| Thank
You We would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone for the prayers, phone calls, cards and letters, flowers, newspaper and magazine articles and TV coverage, donations to the Pavilion and Hephzibah Baptist Church, and the Gideon Bibles sent in memory of our precious Mama. Every consoling word of sympathy was appreciated and will never be forgotten. Thanks to all of you especially for your concern for "Pop" Lewis. Mama was very bold about her faith in God in spite of her soft-spoken nature. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She traveled many thousands of miles and was blessed with hundreds of friends everywhere. We are overwhelmed by the love shown to us, and the genuine expression of that love in every word or deed. Mama would have never imagined the impact she made on so many lives. God bless each one of you. The children, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren of Pauline "Mom" Lewis |

| Mom Lewis (Pauline), was one of 13 children born to Rev. Paul and Blanche Holloway. When she was 15 years old, she and 'Pop' Lewis eloped to McCormick, SC. They had eight children: Miggie, Wallace, Esley, Mosley (who died at age 4 in September 1935), Talmadge, Polly, Janis and Little Roy. 'Mom' came from a musical family too, and she taught Wallace to play the guitar when he was a child. Although Mom didn't appear onstage with the Lewis Family, she traveled with them, and for many years helped with the product table. Mom was born June 20, 1910, and she and Pop were married October 25, 1925. Congratulations to Mom Lewis for being presented the "Miss Ina" award given to a spouse of a Southern gospel performer who has demonstrated the kind of loyalty and support that made their musical contribution possible. This is an award that was presented by Jerry Goff during SGMA, May 2002. Read more about Mom, her daughter Polly, granddaughter Sheri and great-granddaughter Morgan here. |
